The elimination of Jaleel White cleared up the logjam in the middle of Dancing With The Stars Betting Lines last week. It helped draw a pretty clear line between contenders and pretenders.
Now, it’s time for the contestants to support those presumptions on a brutal Monday night. The six remaining contestants will try to avoid a double elimination set for this week as the show hopes the pare it down to just four next week.
Contestants will have to do two dances tonight, one ballroom and one Latin-style with a different partner.
Reported by the Washington Times: “Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower and William Levy and Cheryl Burke will do a foxtrot. Melissa Gilbert and Maks Chmerkovskiy and Maria Menounos and Derek Hough will perform a waltz. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas will dance a Viennese waltz (and yes, there is a difference). Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd drew the traditional tango. The tango is well suited to Driver, who may be in the driver’s seat on the scoreboard after the first round.”
Jenkins is Bovada’s frontrunner to win the show still, and will probably do nothing to change that tonight, even if she isn’t on top of her game.
The opera singer has been the most polished dancer throughout the program, only getting nipped by Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver.
Driver briefly held the top spot on Bovada, but is now a 19/10 favorite to win behind Jenkins (7/1).
Along with the double elimination, the biggest twist for the show is the two dances and new partners. Although the program has been mum on the details, William Levy is rumored to be paired with a male dancer for the Latin number. Per the rules, Levy must dance at least 20-percent of the routine with his partner.
Roshon Fegan and Levy will dance a Paso Doble, Driver will do the jive and Jenkins will do the cha cha.
Fegan and Melissa Gilbert has been at the bottom of betting lines for a while now, constantly ending up in the bottom two. This could be the week they get the boot, setting up a showdown between Jenkins, Driver, Levy and Maria Menounos.
